Designed by aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer, the E-Type's sensuously flowing lines and a subtlety and beauty wooed buyers from around the world. The E-Type follows the basic construction of combining a monocoque center section with square-tube steel front and rear subframes and uses an elegantly designed modular independent rear suspension layout with inboard disc brakes and lower wishbones connecting to cast aluminum hub carriers. It is sprung with dual telescoping shocks inside coil springs mounted between the lower wish bone and the rear suspension crossmember.
