Show stopping Matador Red 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible. Extensive Frame-off restored in show quality Matador Red from top to the restored bottom wiht only 420 mile since completed.  This stunning Frame off restoration was as labor of love for the restorer who was featured in the classic car publication pictured called "Started From Scratch"  Every piece of this car was taken apart before the restoration started and nothing was put back on the car unless it was show caliber. The body was taken completely off of the frame and a rotisserie restoration was started and a bare metal body, that was basted and smoothed and professionally painted in high quality Matador Red, base coat/ clear coat and wet sanded to a mirror finish from the undercarriage to the top of the body. The frame was sand blasted, prepped and painted and remounted to the body, along with new suspension, springs, gas tank, new exhaust and brakes.  The engine compartment looks better than new with a smoothed and painted to match engine compartment. The rebuilt 283 Power Pack engine was repainted and installed, along with a rebuilt Power Glide transmission and rear end.  The engine compartment looks very factory correct with Power Pack heads, painted to match Chevrolet valve covers, Power Pack 4 barrel carburetor and toped off black oil bath air cleaner. Nicely optioned with power steering and new rebuilt power drum brakes. The paint and body polished to a mirror finish and it was time for the new chrome to be installed. Every piece of chrome was new or show quality OEM, including, bumpers, grill. hood chrome, Chevrolet side trim, hood ornaments, emblems, fin trim, bullets, head light and tail light bezels and lenses. The glass was all replaced with new glass including windshield and side glass, windshield trim and side glass trim and rubber gaskets at the way around.The builder did not like any of the the 1957 interior colors and chose to have nostalgic two tone Matador Red and Ivory, because he did not like the beige. The interior is immaculate and shows beautifully with new seat covers, new buns and springs new, carpet and door panel, newly painted to match dash, new dash and instrument cluster bezel and  new gauge including the new odometer that reads 420 break in miles at this time. No expense was spared on the new heavy duty canvas power top that looks great in beige. The Nostalgic masterpiece is rolling on an new set of cooker wide whites, steel wheels and Chevrolet spinner wheel covers for the Iconic Tri- Five curb appeal.
