Very rare 1955 Corvette roadster.  There were only 700 Corvettes produced in 1955 and it was the first year of the V8 engine, which makes this Gypsy Red roadster very desirable. This is number 312 of the Corvettes built in 1955 and it is a rare find for any classic collection. This classic piece of automotive art is one of only 180 Corvette roadsters painted in Gypsy Red with creamy white/beige interior and white convertible top. Under the hood is very original and correct with a 1955 date code correct, rebuilt 265 cubic inch engine with 1955 date code correct cylinder heads and a Powerglide automatic transmission. We believe this to be the original engine for the car because of the date codes and there were no matching vin numbers in 1955. The engine compartment is very correct with a 4 barrel carburetor, Chevrolet script valve covers, correct braided plug wires and ignition shielding and vented air cleaner.  The interior is very nice with the nostalgic red and white dash, Corvette Wonderbar radio, correct  red and white steering wheel, light beige seat upholstery and door panels and red carpet. This rare gem is rolling on correct steel wheels, spinner caps and wide whites for the iconic Corvette curb appeal.
